2.66 MD – Poultry

The Mediterranean Diet has 1-3 servings of poultry per week and also in 3 oz serving sizes just like fish. Similarly, avoid fried poultry and be sure to remove the skin as this adds extra saturated fat and calories that you don’t need.

Note: Add up the number of servings of Fish/Shellfish and Poultry PER WEEK. This would be only 3-6 servings per week, meaning less than 1 per day. Following the Mediterranean Diet means at least 1 day per week and likely more will be vegetarian (no meat, but dairy may be present)!
