2.63 MD – Fruits

The Mediterranean Diet calls for 2-4 servings of fruit per day. One serving is a medium sized fruit about the size of a baseball or ¼ cup of dried fruit.

Whole fruits are very strongly preferred over juices due to the much higher fiber content. Avoid canned fruits that add sugar for a more sweet taste as this just adds calories without any nutritional benefit. Always look at the ingredients on the products you buy to avoid this.
